It's Raining, It's Pouring....

It's Sunday afternoon and it's great weather for a nap. It's storming hard and there are flash flood warnings for the island. Fortunately, it did not start until after our morning service at Calvary Baptist Church. We were very involved during the SS and morning service. We sang, led the children's services and Patrick preached. In a couple of hours, we head back up the mountain one more time and are in charge of the entire evening service at MacField Baptist.

Yesterday's "Fun Day" was fun, of course!! It was very overcast, so no one got sunburned. We went to Montego Bay and shopped at the craft market first. Then we went to some nicer shoppes and shopped more. After that, we walked to "Doctor's Cave Beach," which is a private beach that you have to pay to get into. We were there over 3 hours. Many of the students went on the glass bottom boat and snorkeled. The rest laid out and swam. The beach was very empty compared to other years.

Then we walked to a restuarant that has a slide into the ocean, as well as trampolines. So the students ordered their food and then swam some more. On the way home, we found a brand new "WENDY's" (a completely new chain to the island - our driver had never heard of it). Patrick, Joe and 2 of the guys ran in and about a half an hour later, came out with a small frosty for everyone!! When we got home, it was lights out at 10 p.m. and I think they must have been sleeping within 60 seconds of that.

God is good and we are thankful for your love and support and for our opportunity to minister over here. Continue to check my facebook for more pictures, as that is a much easier/quicker way to get them up!!
Can't wait to get home!!!!

God is so good. We were reminded that his son is always able and available as our Savior. Able to COMPLETELY save us from our sin which ultimately saves us from the wrath of God.

I pray that the students you ministered to this past week understand that he IS a bigger Savior than they are a sinner!

What a joy to hear about your week in this way. It almost seems as if we are a part of it!

Rae~ can't wait to hear all you have to tell us about how God used you specifically this past week.

Get some rest if you are able since you have a long travel day tomorrow.

God bless every one of you.

Sorry to say we might have rain here tomorrow, but I'm sure it won't bother you guys in the least!! To our princess, you know who you are (Haley...I know that was Joel's name for you) or should we call you Hal-ley, as Johnnie likes to call you, I just want you to know that my prayers are continuing for the whole group and that I know things will go as God wills tonight. Tell Patrick that JoMamma said he could do it with his eyes shut!! Well, I'm just waiting for word if Sara made it in from California. She's been looking forward to it. When you get home, you have to show me how to send Dena and Patrick a picture Joel took and sent to me! It makes a mom proud! Ryan will get in around 2:00 a.m. from Chicago, and Dad and I leave Saturday for New York. We will only have a few days here with you so lets plan on filling it up with praising the Lord, looking at pictures and keeping the fire for the Lord on the top of the list of to do things. Remember I was a preschool teacher, and I love those little ones so I can understand how all of you feel about walking away...but you are leaving them with hope, Tell everyone thanks for loving others as you all have been doing.
Blessing to you all, mom

Jack,
I can't believe you will be home in just over 24 hours. Get some rest because I will be bugging you for EVERY detail when you get home. Bobby had lots of fun in your absence (although he did miss you) and he'll be anxious to fill you in.

Thanks Dena for your dedication in the blog and facebook. It was nice to be able to see the team in action.

Can't wait to hear how God used you all this week!

Love,
Mom Lightbody

Hey Davie & Daniel! Can't wait to see you tomorrow night and hear ALL ABOUT your week! I can't begin to tell you just how excited I am that you had this wonderful opportunity to serve God in this way! God is s-o-o-o good, isn't He?! Thanks to Patrick & Dena, Joe & Jessica for the support you have given all of the students this past week! And from the comments, I guess I have you, Dena, to thank re: the blog and the pictures; so thanks so much. And of course reading all of the comments by the students & staff there, & family & friends back home was a lot of fun, to say the least! This has been all new to me and I was excited to check out the blog more than just a few times each day! I look forward to seeing 24 smiling faces tomorrow night; a shining light at midnight!! Blessings to all of you! Mom (Kolis)

Caleb,

We all missed you at Steven's grad party yesterday. It wasn't the same without you. Our whole family kept asking where you were since they got to meet all the other boys Steven got to grow up with. I couldn't have been more proud than I was to explain that you were on a Mission like this - simply remarkable.

I am sure you have been a part of many wonderful things that will help you choose your path as you move forward in life. Some inspiring, some humbling, but all life changing.

Oh yeah - great news!! I have some homemade baked mac-n-chez (with extra baked cheese on top just for you) waiting for you when you get home. :-) See - I told you we would save a little bit of the party for ya! Can't wait to see you when you get home. We want to hear all about it. I am sure your tired and could use some relaxing - the hot tub has your name written all over it!!

Have a safe trip home and be safe!
